Ms. Paulette Jumalon, soprano

moved to California from the Philippines at the age of thirteen. Ms. Jumalon graduated with a Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance at La Sierra University. She played the role of Rosalinda at La Sierra University’s full production of Strauss’ operetta, Die Fledermaus in 2013. She debuted as a soprano concert soloist in Dubois’ The Last Seven Words of Christ and John Rutter’s The Children’s Mass in collaboration with the Los Robles Master Chorale, La Sierra University Chamber Singers, LR Children’s choir and Dr. Lesley Leighton. Because of her distinct vocal ability and instinctual stage presence, vocal ensembles such as La Sierra University Chamber Singers, Chorale, WITNESS, HisVoice, and UNITED invited her as a featured soloist, and coordinator. The group UNITED has recently released an EP album with another in production.

Ms. Jumalon’s most recent starring roles include Golde from Fiddler on the Roof in February 2014 and Maria from The Sound of Music in 2012 at La Sierra University, both of which were sold out and received raving reviews. She has also performed in student-produced musical productions as Jane Eyre from Jane Eyre and Elphaba from Wicked. She participated in the Montecito International Music Festival under Dr. Raejin Lee, Faith Esham and Leslie Umphrey. She also traveled as a featured soloist to San Antonio, Texas with UNITED for the 2015 General Conference where she blessed with the opportunity to sing with Javier Gonzalez and Yolanda Innocent.
Ms. Jumalon was awarded first and second place in both the Riverside Opera Guild Vocal Competition and the Marguerite Marsh Vocal Scholarship Competition in 2013 and 2014. She enjoys teaching young vocal students in her private studio and is an active teacher at the La Sierra Academy of Performing Arts and in her own studio in Loma Linda, California.

Her love for mission work has allowed her to meet many people and travel to Japan, the Philippines and Thailand as a music missionary, or as she calls herself a musicianary. She cannot wait to see what God has in store for her with the LiveFor1 mission in her role as Creative Director and vocal artist.

It is ideal for children to be allowed a rich musical background from the very beginning, and a great place to start practicing excellent technical habits. For the adolescent, it is the best time to  cultivate the maturing mind. It allows the young adult to find an interest that they may develop in school and church activities. For the adult beginner, it is never too late to create beautiful noise!
